I read that they only live seven or eight years. That would be sad to have a dog get old after five or six years. I think they would be too hot in Boise, although there are a few around town that we always stop and pet.
these dogs almost fit what I would like in a dog... me in the dog house isn't one of them.
They also shed alot and yes, have health issues, hips, elbows, allergies... very expensive medically and up front. AND - they do really well with the people... not well at all out side away from the "companion".
Yes, they are beautiful. Robert Redford had several of them when I worked at Sundance. They ran all over that mountain and looked happy and right at home!

Maybe you could put a sleeping bag in the clubhouse and the dog could sleep next to you!! :-)
